While performing laser powder deposition welding, the component surface is slightly melted by the beam, then a gas stream injects filler metal in the form of powder into the bath. This process generates a metallurgically bonded layer with least possible dilution with the base material (less than 5%), free of pores and cracks.

Compared to conventional methods (TIG/MAG), laser powder deposition welding manages without larger amounts of heat, thus reducing warp, and ensures a homogenous seam structure. The optimized reproducibility is a huge advantage for serial production.

Thanks to our wear resistant coatings, lifetime of your components or tools can considerably be increased and even -by appropriate selection of filler material- improved with respect to their properties.
